I have to admit, I have a very soft spot in my heart for Selena Gomez. The Disney Channel actress stole my heart when she starred on Wizards of Waverly Place, and my bias towards her has carried well into my college days, to the point where my roommates often complain about listening to my terrible rendition of “The Heart Wants What It Wants” when I’m in the shower.
The Disney Channel star has had a remarkable career, as she has effortlessly moved between television and music without a hiccup. Lately, Selena has been breaking down the genre boundaries of pop, first with “I Want You To Know” with Zedd, and now with “Good For You” with A$AP Rocky. The international pop princess has tabbed a few of dance music’s emerging stars for the official remix package for “Good For You,” and we’ve got some stand-out re-imaginations.
Of the three remixes, Nebbra‘s take on the track stands out. The French producer infuses the track with a tropical backbone, as soft xylophone melodies take your hand and guide you through a forest of dripping synth sequences, bubbling basslines, and soaring melodies that are dripping wet in vibes.
As a bonus, you can check out Kasbo’s re-imagination of “Good For You” below as well. The Swedish native has firmly cemented his reputation as one of future bass’ brightest young stars, and he infuses “Good For You” with a web of evolving percussion arrangements and sparkling synths that are almost Flume-esque.
