Louis The Child – It’s Strange ft. K Flay

Mark my words, Louis The Child will be the next breakout star in dance music. I haven’t heard a song this good since Flume dropped his remix of Lorde’s “Tennis Court,” which is impressive company for the emerging Chicago duo to be associated with.

By no means are Louis The Child newcomers to the scene, as they’ve released chart-dominating remixes of Oh Wonder’s “Body Gold,” Zella Day’s “Compass,” and Kaskade’s “Never Sleep Alone,” but now, they’re ready to give the world a glimpse into their soul with their stand-out original, “It’s Strange,” featuring K. Flay.

The opening eclectic synth sequences offer an interesting contrast in electronic textures to K. Flay’s unique vocals. The stabbing synths pave the way for Louis The Child to work their magic underneath the stand-out topline, as they intricately weave together a bubbly bass line with bouncy percussion arrangements, before peeling back the curtain to reveal soaring, Flume-esque synths and thumping kicks that makes this one of the best future bass songs of the year. Peep it below and get a copy of FIFA 16 because there’s nothing like playing some soccer to this tune.
